Waterway Constructions were engaged to build a new extension to the existing Eden wharf with 295 linear metres of heavy duty Denso SeaShield Series 2000FD specified to protect 78 new 714mm and 610mm diameter steel piles.

The new wharf extension will enable large cruise ships with a length of 300m or more to enter Eden port and come alongside the wharf rather than using tenders to get passengers to the shore from anchored vessels outside the port.

The wharf extension was officially opened in August 2019 with the first cruise ship docked at the beginning of the cruise ship season the following month.
