Pursuing Prayer: The X factor

Today we will begin a new series called Pursuing Prayer: The X Factor. In the Bible we have read about great moves of God as well as ordinary people doing extraordinary feats.

These lessons will teach us how through Prayer, the X factor, great moves of God will take place in our personal lives, our church and in our communities. We will also learn the importance of prayer and how to pursue God in our prayer life.

Prayer is not an old woman's idle amusement. Properly understood and applied, it is the most potent instrument of action. | Mahatma Gandhi

Turn to Ezekiel 22:30

Ezekiel 22:30 English Standard Version (ESV)

30. And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

The Question What was God looking for in Ezekiel time as well our time?

A man, women, youth, young adult, a person who would pray until change took place in their world (homes, churches, communities, colleges, cities, corporations, world).

Prayer moves the hand that moves the universe.

There still is a places or gaps in this earth for each of us young and old to stand until change comes!

God didn’t find what He was looking for in the earth:

“but I found no one”

Ezekiel 22:30 English Standard Version (ESV)

30. And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

What stops us from becoming the person God’s looking for today?

• To Busy• To Self-Consumed• Lack of Clear Priorities• Ears are closed to the cries of the world around you.

Four (4) points for standing in the gap for your world.

1. Let the Lord give you’re his heart for a city, state, nation, person, etc.No heart for something or someone no sacrifice!

2. Develop a consistent personal devotion time so that God would ask about you before He does something in the earth.

3. Intercession is not bargaining with God but asking and waiting for the answer, then asking and waiting for the answer ….

4. Start to stand in the gap today.

2 Chronicles 7:14 English Standard Version (ESV)

14. if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
