It is important for 4th grade students to understand Ohio history, its origins, its past, its people, and its institutions.

Objectives

Students will be able to define historical eras by using a time line.

Students will be able to examine state historical documents, sites, and artifacts and formulate questions for further investigation.

Students will be able to identify important individuals and events in state history and explain their importance.

Students will be able to identify and locate on a map different cultural groups, major land forms, and water ways that are in Ohio.

Students will be able to identify different resources and explain why they are important to Ohio residents.

Students will be able to explain the democratic processes and rights and responsibilities for Ohio.
