Remarkable Children from a Great School Dear Parents and Carers, Next week is National Storytelling Week. Being able to tell or retell a story is an important skill used in both reading and writing. Next week we have a challenge for all pupils AND parents: tell/ read your child as many stories as you can, get them to retell the story and stand a chance of winning a £25 Tesco voucher. Here's how it works- you read or tell your child a story, make a note of it in their reading rec-ord, and they come into school and retell it to an adult. Every time they have a story to retell, their name goes onto a raffle ticket. The more stories, the more raffle tickets, the better chance of winning the prize. The raffle will be drawn on Monday 8th Feb. So start telling those stories (can be any story, fairytale, true life, make believe...)

Many thanks to the parents and carers that took the time to return the slips related to our election of two Parent Governors. I will inform you next week of the next part of this process. Next week there is a Lillington School Association Meeting on Wednesday 3rd February at 6pm in the Staff Room. Please contact Mr Holt or Mr Cox if you are interested in attending. Their email address can be found on our website.

If you are proud of our school then please spread the word, if you’re not, then please come and say. Mr Fance – head@lillingtonschool.org @MrDFance www.lillingtonschool.org @lillingtonschool

Our breakfast club is currently being sponsored by Greggs and is now free for all families. It starts at 8.15am and the only requirement is that children

eat something while there. There are loads of healthy options including toast, cereals, crumpets, fresh fruit, milk and fruit juice with the occasional guest appearance of yummy toppings like baked

beans for your toast. So start your child's day the right way with a healthy, FREE breakfast.

Active Kids vouchers will be starting again at the end of

January - please collect and bring to school

Next week our football team is taking on a

team from Our Lady’s and St Theresa’s

Good Luck to our team, sure they will do us

proud again!

Lillington vs All Saints School

A report by Harvey Hall—4H

Yesterday, after a last minute change of plan (due to a water-logged pitch) we had to

head over to Leek Wootton to play against All Saints School.

Despite the freezing cold weather, our defence was

really strong and our attacking skills were sensation-

al.

As a result we managed to win 5-2, which we were

very pleased about.

Congratulations to all the team, especially to the

first time scorers.

Many thanks to the parents who helped out with

lifts and came to watch the match.

The team players were: Harvey Hall, Dylan Wright, Anthony Poulton, Mason Cooper, Jaidyn Mar-

tin, Sammy Port, Kyle Callan, Noah Johnston, Kane Young, Rhys Clarke and Flynn O’Keefe
