Replacing Toothbrush Regularly?

Good dental health requires more than regular

brushing and flossing. One of the things dentists

recommend is to use a new toothbrush every three

months. This is not simply to sell more

toothbrushes, but has some very real reasons,

including the unexpected chance of doing

damage to your heart.

Why You Should Be Doing?

Frayed bristles:

With repeated use, the bristleson your brush become frayedand don't do as well cleaningthe plaque from your teeth. The flat surfaces may still lookclean but the bristles can'treach all the nooks andcrannies.

Reason II For Replacing!

Bacteria:

Our mouths are full of bacteria. Themoistness of a used toothbrushmakes a perfect place for thesebacteria to grow, making it morelikely to transfer bad bacteria fromthe air into your mouth when youbrush again.

Reason III For Replacing!!

Cuts:

As the bristles become frayed, someof the edges become sharp. Thesesharp edges can cut your gums, which leaves them more vulnerableto infection. Germs can more easilyenter into your bloodstream throughthese cuts.

Reason IV For Replacing!!!

Reinfection:

If you have a cold, the flu or acold sore, some of the bacteriawill remain on your toothbrush. You can rid yourself of theoriginal infection, but the bacteriathat remain on the brush cancause a new outbreak.

Reason V For Replacing!!!!

Heart problems:

Studies have shown that the samething that causes tooth decay alsoplays a role in heart disease. By notchanging your brush often enough toeffectively keep your teeth clean, youput yourself at risk of developingheart problems.
