GeoFusionResistivity and Imaging While Drilling
March 2015
GeoFusion Eyes to your reservoir
Application• Formation evaluation
• Geosteering
• Geological structure analysis
• Wellbore quality and stability
Benefit• Optimize well placement
• More accurate reserve estimate
• Data while drilling
Features• Three focused resistivity curves
• Quadrant resistivity during rotating or
sliding
• 7 unfocused curves in horizontal wells
• Fullbore images with 0.5-in resolution
• Largest LWD laterolog DOI in industry
• Resistivity range up to 20,000 Ohm-m
The GeoFusion tool provides 360° of
electrical images and laterolog resistivity
measurements in conductive mud while
drilling. The single collared tool acquires
axially and azimuthally focused resistivities at
multiple depths of investigation and is ideal
for formation evaluation, geosteering, and
fracture and structure analysis in conductive
mud environment. It also offers boundary
detection capability in horizontal wells. It can
be easily integrated with many different MWD
tools and be placed anywhere in your BHA.
With the integrated software, the GeoFusion
tool can be easily programmed and its data
processed.
The GeoFusion tool has been in field tests
since Oct. 2013 and high quality wellbore
images and resistivity curves have been
obtained and verified.
Focused Array Laterolog ResistivityGeoFusion acquires qualitative focused laterolog resistivity of multiple spacings
with excellent vertical resolution for formation evaluation. It can be used to identify
bypassed pay zones and achieve precise reservoir estimate in vertical as well as
high-angle and horizontal wells.

Resistivity ImagingGeoFusion provides resistivity images in real-time (8 to 16 bins) and recorded
mode (128 bins) for well placement in horizontal wells and fracture identification
for completion design. User has the ability to choose the format of the data. Two
azimuthally offset buttons provide redundancies in images and different sensitivity
to wellbore washout.

GeoFusion
delivers focused quantitative array laterolog resistivity measurements and high
resolution images while drilling. It provides both improved depth of investigation
and enhanced image quality as well as increased capability for boundary detection
and geosteering. Its state of the art electronics and robust design also decreases
cost of service and improves efficiency.
