I. The Church should separate from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
A. The Church should separate from sin and
TRULY, God is good all the time, and His goodness has been a great factor in our growth. As a flourishing Church that is always experienc-ing His goodness, we cannot thank Him enough. Our on-going
Anniversary celebration proves His goodness through the souls being won to the Lord, the guests being invited to attend, the new converts being baptized, and the members being revived. These divine acts that are happening in our Church show our resemblance to the Church that Jesus Christ built with His proclamation in Matthew 16:18, “…Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” There is really no doubt that our Church has grown and is still flourishing. All the glory goes to the Lord for causing us to grow in number, for creating in us the hearts to serve, for challenging us toward ministry-expansion, for charging us through His Word, and for commanding us to grow in His grace. May we always seek to grow for His glory. Let us use this Anniversary-season to grow and flourish in our faith as we continue to share the Gospel, as we cooperate with our area leaders, as we contribute our resources for the privilege of bringing visitors, as we commit ourselves to the Lord to be a blessing, and as we commune with God in prayer for a triumphant week ahead and for another victorious Sunday!

then unto God.B. Individual
members of the Church must strive to live a separated and holy life.
II. The Church should submit to God as servants to righteousness unto holiness.
A. Submission to Christ’s will must be the priority of the Church.
B. As believers, we must vow to God’s will as servants to righteousness unto holiness.
III. The Church should suppress the flesh by putting on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
A. Believers must put on the new man. B. Believers must put off the old man.
IV. The Church should seek to follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
A. Holiness is a constant path to tread upon.
B. Peace and holiness are connected together.

the Flourishing of the ChurchCelebrating 31 years of God’s faithfulness
the Beginning of the Church the Advancing of the Church
1997 Challenged by the opposition of the neighbors, Dr. Ed encouraged the members to continue building by faith. It was during this year that a new three-storey building with a mezzanine and roof deck, currently called the “New Building,” was started on two adjoining lots purchased the previous year. The average of 23 weekly baptisms was recorded. The Baptist Heritage Bible Seminary was elevated to a college, bearing the name Baptist Heritage Bible College. A four-door apartment was also bought which now houses the church staff and the orphanage.
1998 CBBC reached its highest average attendance record of 1,800 during this year. Though only 50% of the “New Building” was completed, the auditorium became usable for the church’s 19th Anniversary. By the end of the year, the Church had a total record of 7,102 first time visitors and 1,477 baptisms.
1999 With two decades of God’s faithfulness, the Church prayed to have 3,000 first time visitors (FTVs) on its 20th anniversary and by God’s grace, 3,523 came. The “area soulwinning” set-up became more extensive in evangelism and discipleship. Three new churches were established, three new soulwinning areas were added, and two missions were started. CBBC also held its 1st National Baptist Youth Convention which catered to the Baptist youth all over Philippines. More than 500 delegates came from different churches. Since then, CBBC has been consistently hosting this event every year and many Baptist young people are being challenged, changed, and called into full time service.
2000 During this year, the Church aimed for 5,000 FTVs on its anniversary. With much faith, prayer and hard work, God gave 5,094. The “New Building” was finally completed during this year. When the Church moved to the new auditorium, it hit the mark of an average attendance of 2,000. New ministries were started which grew spiritually and numerically.
2001 CBBC reached an average attendance of 2,300 and on the 22nd anniversary, it made a record in the history for gathering 7,433 people. A total of 10,800 FTVs was recorded during this year. The Church accommodated more than 400 pastors and preachers from all over the country in the Pastors College hosted by Clarence Sexton together with his Crown College staff and students.
2002 This year was even more exciting for the Church. Fired by the success of the previous years, Dr. Ed challenged the Church to reach 10,000 in attendance for the anniversary. Later, he announced that God could help them reach 12,000 instead. By the grace and power of God, 15,383 people were seen on that anniversary Sunday!
2003 From the attendance of 42 in 1978, the Church grew to an average of 2,250 in 2003 .On its 24th anniversary, CBBC aimed for an attendance of 16,000 and a total of 16,091 came for the two consecutive services in just one Sunday! The weekly baptisms have reached 35. The Church also purchased a new property--a four-door apartment--that now serves as the College Ladies’ and Academy Staff Dormitory. TO BE CONTINUED....
