2. Facilitating objective of project delivery on time within budget, with value

▪ Construction on-going challenges to control projects

▪ Despite leading-edge technologies, the fundamental responsibilities should be emphasized.

- Fundamentals: Time, Cost, Scope

- Added constrains: Safety, Sustainability, Risk, etc.

It is important to not lose sight for the fundamental responsibilities

Of meeting the key project metrics of time and cost.

2. Facilitating objective of project delivery on time within budget, with value

BIM Facilitates project delivery through :

▪ Improve transparent collaboration and clear

accountability through enabling common language of

communication.

▪ Monitor and Control project from initial stage and

forecast possible risk factors and delays.

▪ Optimize minimal environmental impact.

Robot & AI

Meet Tally – UAE’s first Retail Robot Employee.

▪ An Armless Robot

▪ 14 kg , 163 cm

▪ MOE, Carrefour

▪ Embedded with Cameras & Sensors to avoid obstacles

▪ Works in 3 shifts, each shift for 3 hours

▪ scans the shelves using artificial intelligence to provide real-time

insights on missing, misplaced, unmarked, and incorrectly priced

items, before alerting store managers at Carrefour to fix the issue.

▪ 30% More accurate than human, requires standards in real-time

inventory management.

3. Rolling out how innovation across projects

On-Site Safety Measures:

▪ Quantify labor productivity

▪ Automate attendance

▪ Expedite emergency evacuation

▪ Optimize Emergency response

4. Securing the “buy-in” from all stakeholders and ensuring collaboration

Drones: Contractors can benefit from using an eye in the sky

▪ Reduce regural Site inspection

▪ Enable frequent monitoring

▪ Imporoves speed of communication and decision making

▪ Create As-Built Model

▪ Delivery and Transportation

▪ Safety: Enhance Medical emergency and First Aid Kit delivery

BIM & 5G: How 5G will transform construction worksites

5G is about blazingly fast speeds, higher levels of reliability and increased capacity.

Smart construction will become data construction based on data technologies,

What was not convenient in the Past will become convenient.

5.Challenges for local and international projects

BIM & JCT: BIM and JCT Contracts is a new practice note which

provides guidance on using JCT contracts on projects where BIM

is to be used..

The aim of BIM and JCT Contracts is to:

further the understanding of BIM related legal and contractual

issues and suggest ways of approaching such issues in a

collaborative and constructive way.

5.Challenges for local and international projects

BIM & FIDIC: Up to now, there is no mention of BIM

in the pre-released second edition of the 2017

Yellow Book. That is not to say that FIDIC has

neglected BIM.

Far from it: at least three of FIDIC’s committees

have been asked to consider how best to deal with

BIM.
