RP-recap of the residual dose rates in the HL-LHC LSS 1 and 5A. Infantino

HSE-RP-AS

EDMS 2331769

Aim

To provide an overview/recap of the residual dose rates in LSS1 and LSS 5 in the HL-LHC era

Data based on existing C. Adorisio’s FLUKA simulations (EDMS 1868872): simulations refers to optics v1.3 → some differences with respect v1.5 (e.g. crossing planes, collimators settings, …).

This ppt: focus to the area between TAXN-D2 (± ~10m)

Summary

Within the TAXN-D2 region, the area downstream D2 (non-IP side) shows the lowest radiation levels

Although simulations refer to optics v1.3, general outcome should be valid for v1.5 → locally, absolute values might be different.
