We’re getting older and sicker By 2050, 50% of the developed world is projected to be chronically ill

We don’t take good care of ourselves Obesity, heart disease and cancer are global health issues that Are worsened by the way we live

Demand for care is growing There are simply not enough nurses and doctors to cope with our growing (and ageing) population. Rising healthcare costs are unsustainable

We expect better choices We have higher expectations about care and will demand more choices In healthcare

The Good Life 2.0

Design a product, service, campaign or system which will help us to:

• Prevent the onset of lifestyle chronic related diseases; help people maintain a

healthy lifestyle, avoid temptation or lead a ‘balanced lifestyle, make healthy choices. Create awareness, educate, support, activate, maintain motivation.

• Detect conditions early, to treat and resolve. Help get people ‘back on track’.

Develop ‘triggers’ to stimulate them and to help them find their motivation

• Support people to live with a chronic disease; provide them with more effective

or personalised treatment. Enable them to live with quality for longer.

Why this Brief?

• A genuine, serious ‘wicked problem’. We don’t have all the answers. Your students ideas could make a difference

• A global problem. Requiring insights from different regional / cultural perspectives

29

One more thing . . .

One more thing . . .

30

We have strong interest in offering student internships in

our locations in Eindhoven and Amsterdam. For fresh

graduates we have also established a newly formed

‘residency’ program for highly talented individuals

Tips & Tricks

31

• We’re looking for quality and depth of research. Preferable first

hand, direct contacts, observations & insights

• Think in terms of product-service, product-campaign, service-campaign (system solutions)

• Critical hypothesis – what’s the make or break of the idea?

• Design doing in addition to design thinking - Experiment, Prototype, Test & Evaluate

very excited to see your

students great ideas
