1. NAAC Peer Team Visit- 30th
, 31st, July &1st August: The institution was re-
accredited by the NAAC Peer Team in the year 2012. The Peer Team comprised of
Prof.J.J.Kattakayam, Professor Emeritus, Department of Sociology, University of Kerala,
Tiruvanthapuram – Chairperson, Prof.M.C.Gayathri, Department of Botany, University
of Bangalore, Karnataka, Dr.Mrs.Ganga, Former Principal, Vellalar College, Erode,
Tamilnadu, visited the institution on 30th
, 31st July and 1
st of August and on 15
th
September 2012 the institution was awardedan „A‟ grade with a CGPA of 3.12 by
NAAC, Bangalore.
2. Nutrition Conference: A Two-day UGC sponsored State Conferenceon the theme
“Translating Food and Nutrition into Health” was organized by the Departments of
Applied Nutrition, Chemistry and Biochemistry in collaboration with Indian Dietetic
Association (AP Charter) on 5th
and 6th
October 2012. Prof A.GopalKishan, Consultant
Nephrologist, and Advisor,Mediciti Group of Colleges was the Chief Guest and
Dr.G.V.S.Murthy, Director, Indian Institute of General Health was the Guest of Honour.
Dr.KalpagamPolasa, Director NIN was the Key note addressee for the inaugural session.
Prof. N.B.Sudharshanacharya, Founder and National Coordianator of LEAD INDIA 2020
was the Chief guest and Prof.MeenaHariharan, Director, Dept. of Health Psychology,
HCU was the Guest of Honour. The Conference deliberated on key aspects pertaining to
food and nutrition and panel discussions on health and fitness were held. Students and
faculty members from various colleges participated. Poster and recipe contests were
conducted in which students showcased their talents and won prizes.

3. COP11 – Convention on Biodiversity: In connection with International Conference on
Biodiversity held in Hyderabad from 8th
to 19th
October 2012. Inter collegiate
competitions were conducted under the aegis of CCE and Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha
Vidyalaya conducted the Power Point presentation competition on the topic – “Nature
protects if she is protected” and Ms.NaseemUnnisa of M.Sc Botany secured I prize.
4. Youth Festival: A South Zone Inter-University Youth festival was organized by
Osmania University from 8th
to 10th
September 2012 in which our students secured I
prize in Light Music (Telugu Solo) II prize in Group Dance, III prize in Group Singing
and consolation prize in Rangoli.
5. NSS Award:Dr.Ch.Padma, Lecturer, Dept. of Telugu and NSS Programme Officer was
awarded the prestigious Indira Gandhi National NSS Award by His Excellency,
PranabMukherji, President of India on 19th
November 2012.

6. Inauguration of Golden Jubilee Celebrations: It was indeed a moment of pride for the
institution to celebrate 50 years of its golden existence. The inauguration of Golden
Jubilee celebrations on 28th
November 2012. His Excellency Dr.K.Rosaiah, Governor of
Tamilnadu was the Chief Guest, Dr.A.Chakrapani, Chairman,A.P.LegislativeCouncil,
Sri.K.Jana Reddy, Minster for Panchayat Raj and Rural Water Supply, Govt. of A.P, Sri

A PAdmaRao, President O.G.A., were the Guests of Honour. On the occasion, Golden
Jubilee brochure was released and the III floor of the hostel, Golden Jubilee hall and
MBA A.V Room were inaugurated. A programme depicting the cultural diversity
waspresented by the students and the alumnae.

7. I GO GREEN: A seminar on Ecology and Environment was conducted on 10th
December 2012 and Sri JaiprakashNamburu from I Go Green Organisationdelivered a
lecture on conservation of environment. Saplings were planted on this occasion.
8. Annual Sports Day: Annual Sports Day was held on 13th
December 2012.
ShriLRajender, International Base Ball Player and Smt.LKishoriRajender, International
Softball Player were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Karate and Yoga
demonstrations were given by the students and prizes were given away to the winners of
various sports competitions.
9. NAAC Accreditation Celebrations: It was celebration time on 14th
December 2012 in
the institution for achieving „A‟ grade. As part of celebrations the Managing Committee
members of OGA, Exhibition Society, Economic Committee, Governing Body, teaching
and non teaching staff of SNVMV were presented mementos in appreciation of their
contributions during the re-accreditation process.
10. Annual Day Celebrations: The Annual Day Celebrations were held on 21st December
2012. Captain Uttam Kumar Reddy, Hon‟ble Minister for Housing. Govt. of A.P was the
Chief Guest and Mrs.ChayaRatan, Special Chief Secretary, Dept, of Home Affairs Govt.
Of A.P was the Guest of Honour. On this occasion Gold Medals were presented to the
meritorious students and a cultural presentation was made by the students of Vanita Maha
Vidyalaya.

11. OGA Competitions: Students participated in various competitions conducted by the
Osmania Graduates‟ Association on 8th
January 2013 and our students participated in
many competitions and won prizes inClassical Dance, Classical and Film Song (Solo),
Dance (Solo),Antyakshari.
12. OPEN DAY:An Open Day was organized on 1st February 2013 for the school students to
spread awareness about the facilities and amenities available in the institution and to
make right career choices.

13. Hyderabad Metro Rail Competitions: Various competitions like Essay Writing,
Elocution and Debate were conducted on 9th
and 10th
February 2013 by Hyderabad Metro
Rail in Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha Vidyalaya to spread awareness among the citizens
towards the new transport system in the city. The topic for the competitions was „Metro
Rail for Safe and Comfortable Travel of Women and Gender Equality‟. Students of M.A
English, MBA, B.Sc and Intermediate won prizes in different categories and languages.
14. Sarojini Naidu Birth Anniversary: On the occasion of Birth anniversary of Sarojini
Naidu on 13th
February 2013, an „Open Forum‟ lecture was organized on the topic
„Developing Women‟s Leadership for Transformative Changes in Society‟ by
Dr.V.RukminiRao, Executive Director, Gramya Resource Center, Hyderabad. On this
occasion Prof.C.Anandaraman, Retired Professor, Dept. of Telugu, HCU was felicitated.

15. International Women’s Day: International Women‟s Day was celebrated on 8th
March
2013. Dr.VasaPrabhavati, Former Head, Dept. of Telugu, SNVMV was the Chief Guest.
It was a proud moment to have amidst us Mrs.SabithaBhamidipati (Saptapadi Fame)
Project Manager, OSI Consulting Enterprise, Technical Services and our alumna as the
Guest of Honour.

16. Hostel Day:Hostel Day is the most awaited programme for the hostellers. On 19th
March
2013 the Annual Hostel Day was held with Smt.S.Vani, Advocate, Supreme Court of
India and also our alumna as the Chief Guest. Prizes were given away to the winners of
various competitions held in the Hostel which was followed by a colourful cultural
programme.
