Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
This year seems to have passed at an incomprehensible speed and I am left wondering where it went. We have reached a point in our lives where our paths now separate and the Holy Spirit will lead us in directions known only to God. It is in this new journey that we will carry with ourselves a bit of each other. I carry with me times of laughter and joy, as well as moments of challenges and sorrow, and the wonderful experience of life with Trinity Lutheran. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Pastor Crowell and the staff for their acceptance, which can be difficult in this turnstile program of internship. Additionally, to the youth, thank you for making me feel so welcomed into your life; you all have been a true blessing. To the people of Trinity, Dee Dee and I can never begin to express our love and gratitude to you for your various expressions of love and support during this year.
This next year will bring much excitement and moments for deep thought and prayer for Dee Dee and me as I return to the seminary for a final year of study. September 1 will begin a process of papers and approvals. And when each step concludes, the next is on the horizon. We are both excited, and nervous, about what next February will bring when first-call synod assignments are made. Wherever the Spirit blows us, we will always hold Trinity close in our prayers and hearts.
Soon, Megan Lineberger, will enter your lives as your new vicar. I want you to know that she brings with her, her own shoes to fill. I am taking my shoes home with me. Megan has many wonderful gifts to share with you, gifts that are different from mine, as mine were from Joy’s, and Joy’s from Lisa’s. Megan will unselfishly share with you, and I know that you will return in kind, as it should be in a loving community of faith.
With humbleness, thank you. May God’s grace and the Peace of Christ be forever present in your life.

Greetings to my new church family! As we approach the beginning of a new program year, I am

Loving Threads is a ministry that knits and crochets handmade prayer shawls, baby blankets and bandages for those in the community and around the world. Most work is done at home, and members gather quarterly to enjoy fellowship and to pray for those receiving the shawls. Anyone who can knit or crochet, or would like to learn, is invited to participate. During the summer months, group members will continue their creations at home. The group will gather again on Sunday, September 13 at 4:00 pm in the Parlor. For more information, contact Amy Brown through the Church Office.
Loving Threads
The Quilting Group meets in the Activities Building at 9:30 am, usually twice a month on Mondays. The group makes quilts which are distributed by Lutheran World Relief. Participants do not need to know how to sew in order to make quilts. Willing volunteers who can cut fabric, iron, thread a needle or tie knots are welcome. Some group members bring their lunch to the gatherings. Work is usually finished around 2:00 pm, although participants can work as little, or as long as they like. There are also at-home sewing opportunities for those who cannot come to the gatherings. The meeting date for this month is Monday, August 17. For more information, contact Sarah Weeks at 246-7862 or Amy Brown at 242-5702.
