WARREN Ebert’s SentinelProperty Group hascontinued its expansion inregional Queensland, solidifying its presence inMackay with the acquisitionof another industrialproperty for $6.5 million.
Brisbane-based Sentinel, which has a nationalproperty portfolio in excessof $1 billion in total value, isalready one of the largestprivate owners ofcommercial property in theMackay region.
The new acquisition is thecompany’s seventh propertyin the region, bringing itstotal Mackay property
holdings to about $200million. It is also its thirdproperty in the key Mackayindustrial suburb of Paget, which is 8.5km south-west ofthe Mackay CBD and 3kmsouth-west of the MackayAirport.
The property located at37-39 Interlink Ct at Pagetcomprises a modern
industrial facility and is fullyleased to global engineeringgroup Sandvik until May2020 with a five-year option.
Sentinel managingdirector Warren Ebert saidMackay was an importantfocus of the company’sgrowth strategy, as he hadconfidence in the region’seconomic future.
“While the coal sector andMackay’s residentialproperty market have beenfacing difficulties, at thecurrent prices we see a lot ofstrong upside in commercialproperty investment in theregion driven by itsdiversified economy andlong-term growth prospects.
“There is still anenormous amount oflarge-scale mining, infrastructure and transportinvestment under way andplanned for Mackay, andcommercial property in theregion is well positioned tobenefit from this.”
