INTRODUCTION

FSH

Is a hormone that is produced in the anterior pituitary gland.

In females: FSH stimulates follicular maduration and estrogen .

In males: FSH stimulates Sertollicell proliferation spermatogenesis

TUMOR

They are anormal celular proliferation at the blood vassels cells

BLOOD VESSELS TUMOR CHARACTERISTICS

FSH receptor is known to be expressed only

in the testicular sertolli cells and the ovarian

granulosa cells. But acording to the study the

FSH positive receptor expression was

localizated in blood vessels surrounding the

tumor (EX: breast , prostate and testis tumor)

In consecuence FHS can stimulate the

proliferartion and maturation of those tumor

cells.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FSH AND TUMOR

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Identify the expression of follicule-stimulating Hormone

receptor in tumor blood vessels

DISCUSSION

DISCUSSION

Author What he say Agree or disagree

Mariani S,Ben –Josef, et al.

“two previous studies showed immunohistochemical detection of the FSH receptor in the tumor cells of prostate adenocarcinomas”

Alam H, et al. “the binding of FSH to FSH receptor in ovarian granulosa cell induces an increase in hypoxia-inducible factor 1alfa protein levels under normoxic conditions, which in turn leads to up-regulation of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)”

DISCUSSION

Author What he say Agree or disagree

Fox SB, et al. “another possibbility is suggested by the observation that in the breast tumors in humans, endothelial cells proliferate at the tumor periphery but not in the interior”

Castro-Fernández C,et al.

“the fact that FSH and FSH receptor signaling is known to generate activated Gq/11 protein”

PERSONAL CONCLUSIONS

The possibility to know specifically the expression of FSH receptor

will allow doctors improve techniques in order to reduced the risk of

metastasis in blood vessels cells.

Thanks to the developing of inmublotting, inmunohistochemical and

the FSH-receptor purified antibodies techniques many diseases can

be detected faster, in that way patients would have more chances to

survive

PERSONAL CONCLUSIONS

This kind of investigations give more alternatives on diagnosis and

treatment to the medical society in order to focus properly each of

different diseases existing

The topic was interesting, also is something that we are learning at

this moment so that aspect made us the workshop more

understandable and more applicable to our low knowledge in medicine.
