I am going to State Theatre New Jersey

in New Brunswick to see a show!

I will be going to the show with

We will have a lot of fun!

MR. PENNYGAFF’S CIRKUS SIDESHOW SPECTACULAR SOCIAL STORY

At the show I will see a silly man named Mr. Pennygaff.

He will do some amazing tricks!

I will go to the theater in

a car.

I will get out of the car in

front of the theater.

Or we will park nearby and

walk to the theater.

I will go into the theater.

I will be in the lobby.

A helper called an usher

will take my ticket and

tell me where to go next.

I will walk up the stairs to

the second floor.

The second floor looks

like this.

There will be a bathroom

close by I can use if I need to.

Then I will go up some more stairs into another room.

I will see the show in this room.

I can sit on a chair to watch

the show.

Or I can sit up front on

the floor.

If I get scared or things are

too loud, I can cover my

ears, use my iPad or my

headphones, or squeeze a toy.

Or I can go take a break in a quiet

area where I can sit, color, or do

something else.

MR. PENNYGAFF’S CIRKUS SIDESHOW SPECTACULAR SOCIAL STORY

Before the show starts, someone will come out to talk.

They will say that we will get milk and

a chocolate chip cookie after the show!

I will stay in my seat and listen while the person is talking.

Then the show will start!

I will see Mr. Pennygaff.

Mr. Pennygaff will say I can cheer and clap

and make noise during the show if I want to.

Mr. Pennygaff will do some amazing tricks.

He will make bowls spin around on top of skinny sticks.

A bowl might fall on the floor and break.

It’s okay if a bowl falls and breaks.

I will see Mr. Pennygaff do some balancing tricks.

He will balance lots of different things.

He will try not to let anything fall!

I will see Mr. Pennygaff do some other fun tricks,

like spinning tops, juggling, and twirling a rope.

Mr. Pennygaff will tell me if there is a loud noise coming,

so I can cover my ears if I need to.

When the show is over, I can applaud to

show Mr. Pennygaff I liked his show.

In the lobby, I will get

Then I will go down the

stairs to the lobby.
