To recommend to the principal of its school priorities for spending school moneys; principal shall consider the recommendations; SAC shall send its recommended spending priorities to DAC and to the local school board.

C.R.S. § 22-11-402(1)(a)

To advise the principal concerning the preparation of a school performance or improvement plan if either is required and submit recommendations to principal and superintendent, if applicable, concerning the contents of the performance or improvement plan

C.R.S. § 22-11-402(1)(b)

To provide input and recommendations on an advisory basis to district accountability committee and district administration concerning principal development plans and principal evaluations.

C.R.S. § 22-11-402(1)(e)

To discuss whether the school is making progress toward implementation of the school’s Performance, Improvement, Priority Improvement, or Turnaround plan, whichever is applicable, or other progress pertinent to the school’s accreditation contract with the local school board.

Provide sounding board / an “ear” for concerns

SACs must select one of their parent reps to serve as chair or co-chair of the committee

School Finance and District Budget - D-20 #177 out

of 178 in funding; not fully funded since 2010 due to ‘negative factor’

Growth in the District (North/East side)

◦ Enrollment 25,500. Up about 500 from last year

◦ Next bond vote – board voted to include in 2016 ballot cycle –new MS and 2 new Elem, additions to HS’s, and improve existing buildings

Graduation Guidelines – will begin for these 8th graders

State Testing 2016 –◦ Average Parent Opt Out for D-20 is 85% (not penalized at this point)

◦ CMAS Science and Social Studies results

Challenger – #2 in Science (out of 17 regional districts)

Social Studies (Challenger was not one of the tested schools)

◦ PARCC

English/Language Arts – growth 60th percentile

Mathematics – growth 51st percentile

ACT – District Avg was 22.7 – highest ever

PARCC / CMAS 2017one window for all state testing March 13 – April 28
