� Clean Water Act requires DPWH to developNSSMP to promote septage and sewerageinfrastructure for the urban cores of citiesand municipalities.

� NSSMP is part of the National SustainableSanitation Plan (NSSP), a broader plancovering the full spectrum of sanitationissues faced by LGUs.

� More than 90% of the sewage generatednationwide is not treated properly

� Focusing on septage and sewerage but includes someinformation on the other sanitation interventions

� 60 LGUs have developed local sanitation plans
