Tintern Abbey has inspired writers and painters for over two hundred years, ever since the

Reverend William Gilpin published a book in 1782 telling of the picturesque qualities of the abbey and it’s valley. On a quiet day, the sight of the roofless ruins can be hugely uplifting.
