O 94% of major companies use social media to expand their company

O 83% of companies who have used social media to expand their marketing have seen an increase in marketing exposure

O 53% of all companies that have used social media have reported an increase in sales revenue

There are four major forms of Social Media. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google +. The use of these medias can increase the amount of customers the company deals with. In today’s society the majority of people use social media on a regular bases, multiple times a day. To incorporate social media into your company could potentially increase your revenue of customers.

History of Social MediaSocial media has been around for years. Although it may not have been as big a trend as it is now, it all started in 1969 when a company called CompuServe introduced the first commercial internet providers. It did not become a big trend until about the late 1990’s, when other companies started to catch up.

ConclusionIn today’s day and age the use of social media can affect companies revenue, customers, and growth. Social media plays a big part in expanding your market. It can potentially take a company from local customers, to world wide customers. Introducing social media into your company will prove to be a great investment.
