So What?Sharing information about oneself online

can be beneficial.

But, it can also be harmful if the privacy settings are

not used properly.

All users have free-reign to post just about

anything and change the settings to their liking.

Argument

Most users do not take advantage of the security

settings, increasing their risk for an unfortunate

situation.

Then blame the social networking sites for the action or event that took place.

responsibility on the users behalf?

have studied and concluded that the privacy policies

online are not the source of the problem…

…but the users who do not act upon them.

They believe no matter how many ways the

companies can acknowledge the privacy issue, it will

be disregarded and the issue would still remain.

Ultimately, leaving the privacy issue up to the user

in what they want exposed.

Taking Action

When using online networking sites, users need to be more aware of how their pages are being protected, and what they are putting online.
