Course DescriptionCourse Description

• This course is designed to help students read, write and communicate orally in Spanish. The more complex structures will be taught, emphasizing and stimulating oral proficiency through the use of the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. A greater appreciation and understanding of the Hispanic culture will be gained.

Course ContentCourse Content• A brief review will be done first.

Content will include new and old grammar along with essential vocabulary. Hispanic culture will be explored through readings, internet, cultural projects and foods.

• Materials: • Textbook: En Español 3 McDougal Littell ($ 57.00-

new), workbook ($ 10.00), CD tutor ($ 5.00)• Notebook: A 3-ring binder, plenty of paper and

dividers, pens or pencils.

GRADINGGRADING

• Participation/ Classwork…15%

• Etapa and Unit tests…….....35%

• Homework…….. ..……..15%

• Mid-term/Final Exam ………….10%

• Quizzes/Projects…………25%

CLASS RULESCLASS RULES

• 1. Be on time every day. School policy on attendance and tardiness will be enforced.

• 2. Come to class prepared: books, homework, writing utensil, notebook, etc.

• 3. Participate.• 4. Sit in your assigned seat daily.• 5. If you need extra help – ASK! DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE

LAST MINUTE!• 6. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. This means

respect and consideration towards others—you are responsible for your own behavior and actions.

• 7. Please raise your hand if you have a question.• 8. No food, gum or drink in class (except water).• 9. No cell phones, calculators or personal organizers in class.
