As a bell ringer, students will define or provide an example for each of the five words:

Bell Ringer – Exit Ticket Activity

Students will write an exit journal entry from the perspective of someone who experienced the Dust Bowl using the 5 vocabulary words at the beginning of the lesson.

Jenga Instructions1. Split into 2 Teams 2. A member from team 1 pulls a block from the tower3. Without help from teammates, they define the vocabulary

word4. If student gets the word CORRECT: they put Jenga block

down on table5. Teammate from opposing team comes up & has to add that

block to top of tower6. Then that student pulls block from the tower & cycle begins

again7. If student gets the word INCORRECT: they put Jenga block

down on the table & another member from their team must come up and put block on top of tower. Then that student continues the process
