Spike Ball Blitz

On Tuesday 26th January sixth class attended a “Spike Ball Blitz” in Magh Éne with Cliffoney N.S

hosted by some T.Y students from Magh Éne.

The T.Y students coached us for six weeks on the different aspects of the game. The different skills we learned: Catch and throw, spike, forearm pass,

volley and serve. The Transition Year students worked hard preparing us for the blitz and

ensured the smooth running on the actual day.

Spollen.Spikers: - Killian Fox, James Gilmartin, Michael Mc Gloin, Casey O’Donnell, Michaela O’Reilly, Natasha

Ward.The Hot Chilli Spikers: -

Jamie Coyle, Jakub Machunik, Aaron Mc Elhinney, Leah Nolan Doyle, Aoibheann O’Callaghan,

Shannon Walsh.The Spikey Hedgehogs: -

Claire Sheerin, Karl Barrett, Adrea Coen, Niamh Sheridan, Oisin Mc Gloin, Saul Gavigan.

The Spikey Conquerors: - Oisin Cassidy, Odhrán Foody, Richard Luong, Laura

Campbell, Sarah Fitzgerald, Rachel Foley.

Although Cliffoney N.S won on the day we had a great time and we were really well looked after in

Magh Éne. Thank you also to our coaches Rebekah Corrigan, Louise Rouse and Helen Clany.
