A 2- day National Conference on

“RECENT TRENDS IN PHYTOPHARMACEUTICALS FOR TREATING CHRONIC AILMENTS”

25th and 26th October 2018

Recent trends in phytopharmaceuticals for treating chronic ailments was

inaugurated by the chief guest of the function Dr. Shashi Bala Singh,

Director, NIPER, Hyderabad on 25th October 2018.

The Chief guest Dr. Shashi Bala Singh emphasized the importance of collaborative work in research and thrown limelight on various

phytopharmaceuticals used in chronic ailments.

Dr. Renu Dixit, Professor, SV Ayurvedic college started the session with

the talk on Potential of Ayurvedic plants in the treatment of Diabetes. She

confered on various phytopharmaceuticals its applications, mode of administration of phytomedicines.

Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor, SVIMS, Tirupati delivered a talk on

Phytoceuticals in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders. She agreeably

explained her clinical experience in the successful usage of phytoconstituents in treating cardiovascular diseases like hypertension.

Dr. C. K. Ashok Kumar, with his team of faculty members delivered a

lecture on Adaptogenic herbs. Dr. S. Vijayaraj delivered a talk on Action

potential, Mrs. P. Latha delivered a talk on Homeostasis and Dr.

Jayaraman delivered a talk on molecular mechanistic approach of adaptogens, Dr. M. Badrud Duza delivered a talk on Human Microbiome,

Dr. Narahari Narayana and Dr. Nawaz Mahammad delivered their talk on

formulations and solving stress with herbs respectively in the lecture.

Dr. K. Mangathayuru, Professor, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai

delivered a speech on Herbal Drug enriched bioengineered Tissue

Constructs for Wound healing. She has explained her valuable research findings in the tissue constructs of herbal extracts for wound healing in

invivo rat models.

Dr. V. M. Muruganadam delivered a session on Full Spectrum

standardization of Herbal Bioactives - A newer Approach. He emphasized the need of standardization of herbal bioactives with advanced analytical

technologies to improvise commercialization of herbal products.

The final plenary session was given by Dr. V. Ravichandiran on System

biology for drug development. He highlighted the significance of cell

biology and various cutting edge technologies in drug development.

The conference concluded with valedictory function. Dr. V. Ravichandiran,

Director, NIPER, Kolkata was the chief guest of the function; Dr. V. M.

Muruganadam, Director, Natreon INC, Kolkata was the special invitee, Prof. T. Gopal Rao, Special Officer SVET, Dr. T. Lazar Mathew, Adviser,

R&D, SVEI, Dr. D.V.S. Bhagavanulu, Director, SVEC were the other

dignitaries present in the ceremony. Dr. C.K. Ashok kumar Principal

welcomed the dignitaries. Prizes were distributed to the winners of oral and poster presentations by the chief guest and other dignitaries. The

conference came to close with vote of thanks from Dr. S. Vijayaraj,

organizing secretary of the conference.
