TRANSCRIPT
Saint Augustine is one of the oldest African American parishes in the United States,
located in the historic West Louisville in the Archdiocese since 1870. We are a spirit
filled, welcoming faith community that prides itself in sharing the good news with
all of God’s people. We give witness to the presence of God in the affirmation of our
leadership, ministries and outreach to the broader community from a family –
centered perspective.

WELCOME VISITORS, We are honored that you chose to worship with us today!
All who are not receiving Holy Communion are encouraged to express in their hearts a prayerful desire for unity with the Lord Jesus and with one another.
STEWARDSHIP “Therefore, if you bring your gift to the al-tar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 Being good stewards of the physical gifts we receive from God is important. Yet, we are also called to be responsible for the re-lationships in our lives. Improving rela-tionships with our family, friends, and neighbors, especially relationships that are strained, is a higher, more mature, form of stewardship.
Gospel Matthew 5:38-48 1st Reading - Leviticus 19:1-2, 17-18 Joyce Lancaster 2nd Reading - 1Corinthians 3:16-23 Kay Cammack Prayer of the Faithful Sharon Rufus

Thanks to those who have already responded with a gift to the 2019 Catholic Services Appeal. To date we have raised $9,695.00

benefit the church.
MARRIAGE AND PARENT POINTERS
"The ayes have it." Try gazing lovingly into each other's eyes for one minute. ... Probably you will end up laughing. See, I made you laugh. Yes, it's corny - but fun. Ash Wednesday is coming up Feb. 26. Discuss with your family whether there is something you would like to "give up" or "do" in common. Can you go beyond giving up sweets? Consider "fasting" from social media for a day or single use plastics for all of Lent.
COUNTDOWN
One weeks before the 150th
Anniversary celebration
begins!!!
If you will be walking and taking the trolley to the Cathedral, please see Mary Holder or Janice Mulligan. Thanks.
Formation and Evangelization: In an effort to meet the growing needs in our parish, Formation, and Evangelization are inviting our parishioners to consider joining our ministry teams. As the Brazilian proverb states, "When we dream alone it’s only a dream; when we dream together it is the beginning of reality.
