APPLICATION AND ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
Applicants for all grades (000 to 10) may either collect
Application Forms from the College Reception or downloadthem from the College website (www.sthenrys.co.za). When
completed, the Application Forms must be returned with
all the relevant documents detailed in the Forms to the
Admissions Secretary at the College Reception.
Applicants for Grades 8 and 9 will be required to write
an Entrance Test. Upon successful completion of the Test,
applicants will be invited for an interview. Given a positive
outcome of the interview, applicants will be offered a place
at the College.
Applicants for places in Grade 1 will be invited for a ReadinessTest and interview. Entrance to the College for applicants for
all other grades (000 to 0, 2 to 7 and 9 to 10) will be offered on
the basis of the outcome of an interview.
A registration fee will become payable on acceptance of an
applicant.

St Henrys Marist College is justiably proud of its superb academic record: with a reputation for
excellent academic standards, with annual success rates of 100% at Matric level and a very
high percentage of candidates obtaining Exemptions. Since 1996, its pupils have written theIndependent Examination Board Matric which is regarded as the pre-eminent examination
body in South Africa. Modern educational equipment and methods help the pupils develop a
spirit of inquiry so that they will undertake personal independent study. The Learning Resource
Centre, incorporating the School Library and Archives, is well-equipped to be the nucleus of
research and AV style teaching. Sound academic foundations are laid in the Pre-Primary and
Junior Preparatory Phase

The daily programme varies slightly from day to day and is subject to change from time to time but this
gives an indication of the way in which the school day is divided into carefully structured periods of
activity.

07h50 Morning school divided into 4 periods with a 20 minute break

For pupils from Grade 4 to Grade 7, a Homework Room is available from 14h30 until 17h00 Monday to
Friday during the school term.
Prep School 14h00 - 14h30 Astro-turf and Main Field
14h30 - 15h30 Homework Room (First Session)
15h30 - 17h00 Homework Room (Second Session)
For costs please refer to the Scale of Fees.
In order to encourage independent study and research, the Learning Resources Centre is open until
16h30 Mondays to Thursdays during the school term.
An After-School Care Centre for children in the Foundation Phase operates daily from 12h00 until 17h00,
Monday to Friday during the school term. The After-School Care Centre is run by specialist, highly qualied
Supervisors. Depending on the age grouping, the daily programmes includes periods of homework,
educational board games, painting, play dough modelling, reading, drawing, a wide variety of outdoor
activities as well as rest and clearing up periods.
Places in the After-School Care Centre are dependent upon availability.
