THE FAITH’S TRIALS
Brothers, our faith is tried more often than is the reed rocked of the winds. Trials are
like the winds: a weak faith will uproot and a strong faith will be strengthened even more.
Trials are also like the flame in which straw is burned and gold is purified.
Man’s intellectual pursuits and suppositions also try our faith. But we can overcome
them if we are willing to adhere to the words of God and if, in opposition to those
intellectual pursuits, we are able to emphasize the teaching of the faith of Christ.
Our faith is further tried by suffering and misery. This is the fire in which our faith
either has to be burned like straw or to be tempered as pure gold. We will resist these trials
if we would but remember Christ crucified on the Cross for us and so many thousands of
martyrs for the Faith who, in their patience, conquered all.
Our faith is also tried by death. This is the bitter fire in which the faith of many has
been burned. Is death the end of everything? It is not, but rather believe is the beginning of
everything; it is the beginning of a new and just life. Believe in the Resurrection of Christ,
believe in life beyond the grave and believe in general in resurrection and the Dreadful
Judgment.
O God Lord, strengthen the faith in us and have mercy on us.
As Chairperson of the first, St. Mary, Spring Fest, I would like to thank all the

FATHER’S DAY ~ JUNE 21, 2015
On FATHER’S DAY we thank our Heavenly Father for all the
dedicated and loving men who take care of their families, worship the
Lord and provide the love, security, respect and example for their children
to become good Christ-loving adults.
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the dads.
The program for Father’s Day will take place on Sunday, June 21, after the Divine
Liturgy. Everyone is welcome! Please bring your children, too. THANK YOU!
The Feast of Pentecost is not simply the celebration of an event which took place centuries ago. It
is the celebration of what must happen and does happen to us in the Church today. We all have
died and risen with the Messiah-King, and we all have received his Most Holy Spirit. We are the
“temples of the Holy Spirit.” God’s Spirit dwells in us (Romans 8; 1 Corinthians 2-3, 12; 2 Corinthians
3; Galatians 5; Ephesians 2-3). We, by our own membership in the Church, have received “the seal
of the gift of the Holy Spirit” in the sacrament of Chrismation (right after our baptism).
Pentecost has happened to us.
Blessed art Thou, O Christ our God, who had revealed the fishermen as most wise by sending down
upon them the Holy Spirit: through them Thou didst draw the world into Thy net. O Lover of Man,
Glory to Thee (Troparion).

Duminica a 2-a după Rusalii ~ Duminica Sfintilor Romani si Americani
2nd
After the “Sunday of All Saints”, we commemorate the
Saints of America and Romania, our two “homelands”. We
are people of two countries and all part of the “One, Holy,
Catholic and Apostolic Church”. Just as Christ called the
fisher men to follow Him, so are we called to preserve our
holiness by following the examples of those who have
followed Him in holiness: the blessed saints.
Many of them were missionaries, many were martyrs.
They were men, women and even children. Some were
priests, nuns, monks and hierarchs of the Church. We remember them for keeping the
Commandments of God and being shining examples of Christian virtue and they all shared
equally in God Grace and Love.
TROPAR - As the bountiful harvest of Your sowing of salvation, the lands of North
America offer to You, O Lord, all the saints who have shone in them. By their prayers keep
the Church and our land in abiding peace Through the Theotokos, O most Merciful One.
