1

Click on Internet explorer icon and sharepoint opens

Click on your school or stcLIVE Toolkit

1

Click on your course or the sandpit (A to

Z).2

Your course may not be there. No worry your IT Champion will sort this out for you after half

term.

Students don't use their name, but don't alert students to the fact that you do, or they might

start editing your course!

3

Your password is "pass" followed immediately by

your first name

2 As a member of staff, your user name is the 7

digit staff number on your ID card (include the

zeros)

1

Please note:For the Sandpit Username: sandpitPassword: sandpit

The induction

part of the course will look like

this...1

...but when you turn editing on...

2

....it will look like this. The editing functions for things you've already added (I've

ringed them) have appeared. They are:

Hide/Reveal

Edit

Drag to move up/down

Delete

Indent (Format)

These are the drop down menus used for adding

material.

In this basic tutorial we'll look at the easiest to

install and most useful activities:

Link to a file or web site

This is the window that

opens...

2

Clicking on "Link to a file or website" enables you to link to any webpage, or

insert most kinds of file (videos up to 10Mb, word documents, scans, etc.

Give the resource a

name that is clear to the students

For websites, delete “http:// “and cut and paste in the website's address

(highlight, then Ctrl + C, then click here and Ctrl + V)

Always drop down and choose "new window", otherwise when

the student closes the

document, they close STC Live

too.

When you click on "choose or upload a file", a window opens with all the files for that course. Click on "upload a file" to

add to the list...

Choose "browse" to find

a file...

then "upload" it...

1

2

Then "choose" file to put the file

into the stcLIVE

page

3

4

This takes you back to the page where you gave the file a name for STC Live. Scroll down and choose "save and return to course"

Don't forget: "New window".

The new resource file or webpage will be the last thing on the list for that unit, but you can reorder the resources using

the

function

This expands/ contracts all the units so that they are visible or alternatively, stacked (but it is not a change to the page, the same option is available to the students)

These icons hide either whole units' contents (a) or individual files/sites (b) within a unit

homework, for student socialisation, as a revision archive and more...

We hope you have enjoyed this induction session.

Please could you now complete our online evaluations for both Training 3C and 2A?
