Steampunk Explorations

Snow Tubing in Tahoe

In BabbageThere were a few of us that met up here. Sean had a bit of an issue with “melting” floors! At least he didn’t fall into the sewers like Matt and I did.

BabbageWe got to have some fun conversation while we explored.

BabbageLook! Sean even broke out his snowboard.

BabbageAaaaand then I fell into the sewers…

The Sewers of BabbageThere was a cool submarine device down here. I was even able to get

inside, but couldn’t figure out how to make it work. This picture is dark, but it is the greenish looking thing in the middle of the picture.

The Sewers of BabbageOK, there was a really HUGE creep factor down here in the sewers. I heard chanting…like monastic chants and followed it to the sinister looking monk pictured at the very

top of this snapshot. I couldn’t get any closer because I was stuck in the floor.

Still in BabbageThis was a cool room…that is, until I got stuck in a crazy spinning frenzy. I

had to log out and log back in.

BabbageOnce I stopped spinning, I was able to explore some more. There was a

beautiful tree in a sort of town square. I tried to capture an image of Matt flying around near the smoke towers, but wasn’t fast enough.

BabbageSean, who you can JUST barely see in the left window, and I went for a tram

ride. I was so surprised that we could actually get on the tram when it stopped at the station.

Lake Tahoe ResortAnd then Sean took us to the Tahoe resort to SNOWTUBE! It was so much

fun!!!

Lake TahoeThe ski lift offered some beautiful views.

Lake TahoeI even went sleigh riding!

Lake TahoeAfter exploring Babbage and the Lake Tahoe resort, I realize that virtual worlds have so much

more potential as learning environments than I’d even imagined. With the ability to create interactive machines and vehicles, the possibilities are limited only by imagination.
