What are the STELLAR Awards?

STELLAR awards recognize educators for excellent uses of NASA STEM resources in their classrooms or informal settings. The STELLAR acronym represents the intent of the award:

STEM

Teaching

Excellence for

Leading,

Learning,

Articulation, and

Reflection

STELLAR Awards

Navigation

• Go to the NASATalk website

• Register and login to the site

• Select the STELLAR Award Icon

STELLAR Awards are seeking entries for the following themes.

• Aeronautics and flight• Ecosystems• Forces and motion• Life sciences• Models and scales• Solar system• The Moon• Weather and climate

STELLAR Award winners• Receive a $100 cash stipend.

• Two honorable mentions each receive a $50 stipend.

• Participate in blogs, interviews, or digital storytelling about their entries.

• May use the STELLAR Awards icon for recognition purposes.

Please nominate teachers for STELLAR Awards.• Draw from curriculum areas promoted within your

region.

• Consider tying to STELLAR Awards to a professional development conference theme such as robotics.

• Inspire and motivate other teachers to use NASA resources by sharing your experiences.

• Read about Mrs. Eileen Poling’s winning entry, Family Flight Fun on NASATalk.

• Submit an entry.
