STRATEGIES for PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Communication, Parenting, Learning at Home, Collaborating with Community

Provide-

- Information on school reforms, policies, discipline procedures, assessment

tolls and school goals will be disseminated.

- Links to programs and resources within the community that provide support

services to families. Give specific examples such as:

- Parents the expectations for students in each subject and grade level.

- Information to parents to assist in understanding how students can improve

skills, get help when needed, meet class expectations, and perform well on

assessments. Give specific examples: tutoring times, extra homework help

with specific teachers, websites that the school uses, practice assessment

websites and resources.

- A program to foster student participation in community service.

- Encouragement through your newsletter and bulletins for community

members to take part in school volunteer programs.

- Distribution of information from the school to the community, include those

without school age children regarding school programs and performances.

Use social media and your newsletter to advertise.
