Rumson Recreation
Rumson Recreation offers a year-round selection of sports and activities for the whole family.
The mission of Rumson Parks & Recreation is to promote affordable, community-wide
recreational, cultural and educational opportunities for residents of all ages, interests and
abilities. We seek to provide a fun, safe environment for our diverse activities, building
community through positive social interaction and volunteerism. In addition, Rumson Parks &
Recreation strives to develop and maintain high quality parks and recreational facilities for
our residents’ enjoyment and well-being.
Each year, we serve more than 4500 participants in over 20 programs thanks to the large
group of dedicated volunteers who support these programs and our community year after
year. Our in-house and approved-program offerings currently serve those from ages 5 to
Seniors and include youth sports as well as non-sport activities.
Our website offers registration materials for each program, the latest news and events, and
up-to-the-minute information on field conditions, closings, and announcements via our
Twitter feed: @RumsonRec.

Soccer Camp
2018
Camp is offered to all girls that reside in Rumson & Fair Haven entering grades 3 – 8 in the Fall.
Dates: July 9 – July 12
(Rain date: July 13)
Time: 9 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Two River
(RFH turf field)
Cost: $150.00
Deadline: June 13th
Attire: T-shirt, shorts, cleats/sneakers, shin guards, sunscreen. Dress comfortably for warm
weather.
*Bring your soccer ball
Camp will focus on improving all soccer skills throughout the week by instruction from our
highly qualified staff. The week will entail station work and competitive fun games! All players
will receive a t-shirt.
Campers must provide their own snacks and water bottles.

Mary Beth Coleman….RFH Head Girls’ Soccer Coach. An RFH graduate and teacher, Coach Coleman just
completed her 12th season as head coach. During her tenure her teams have won the 2007 CJ Group II
State Championship and the program’s first Group II State titles in 2008 and 2013. She is in the RFH
Athletic Hall of Fame and in 2014 the NFHS Coaches Association selected her to receive the “Coach of
the Year” Award at the state level for Girls Soccer.
Megan Siclaire….Forrestdale Head Girls’ Soccer Coach. A former All-Conference defender at Monmouth
University, Coach Manney brings plenty of knowledge and experience to camp. Along with coaching
Forrestdale the past 10 years, she has worked as a counselor at many soccer camps throughout
Monmouth County.
Megan Heerwagon.....Assistant Girls Varsity Soccer Coach at RFH. Coach Heerwagen just completed her
4th year coaching and teaching mathematics at RFH. She is a graduate of Brick Memorial High School
where she was a standout goalie. After high school, she continued her soccer career at Kutztown
University and is a great addition to the staff.

Who: Bulldog Volleyball Camp is designed for middle school girls (incoming 6th -
9th graders) to enhance skill development and learn the basics of the game of
volleyball

Registration period: March 1 – May 31
A LATE FEE OF $10 will be applicable on each individual registration after May 31.

SWIM TEST: Participant must provide proof that have passed a swim test. Swim tests are available at
the YMCA – you need not retake the swim test each year.
LEARN TO ROW CAMP
Who: Boys and Girls 13 years and older by the first day of camp
What: 5 Day program held at Rumson’s Victory Park in which campers learn the fundamentals of
proper stroke technique, safe conditioning practices, proper terminology, equipment handling and
rowing safety.

The camp offers programs for kids of all ages and skill levels.
TOTS is offered for ages 4 - 5 years. This program is offered as a one and a half hour program to introduce your
child to the basic skills of soccer in a fun filled environment.
KINDERKICKS is offered for ages 5 - 7 years. This program is geared toward teaching the fundamentals of the
game - passing, shooting, dribbling, control, and heading.
JUNIOR program is offered for ages 7 - 10. Individual skills are sharpened and applied in small sided games.
Campers will work on soccer fundamentals and basic tactics/strategies of the game will be introduced.
COMPETITIVE program is offered for ages 10 - 12. Challenges the skill level of each camper. Advanced skills
and tactics/strategies will be applied.
ADVANCED program is offered for campers ages 12 and over. The enjoyable curriculum provides a challenging
environment to maximize each campers potential.
All campers will receive a certificate of completion
