Who We Are
Hope Begins With a Meal
Meeting Our Homeless Neighbors

What we expected Preparing and serving meals to the homeless
in our community Learning about the services they receive
through the Phoenix Rescue Mission Seeing the benefits that come with the
availability of a longer-term, holistic and comprehensive program that makes true life-change possible for homeless individuals by attending to the mind, body and soul of each person
What we experienced A much wider mix than we expected of older
men, younger men and some families Understanding that a meal becomes a
gateway to a much broader set of services – from overnight shelter & a shower to longer-term addiction recovery, job training and job placement services
Our Experience
1. Commitment to serve meals at the Phoenix Rescue Mission quarterly.
2. Partner with the Phoenix Rescue Mission to improve its current program services.
3. Share experiences and professional services that will maximize holistic treatment offerings to those served at both Journey Healing Centers & Phoenix Rescue Mission
4. Schedule a time to visit Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Changing Lives Center, which focuses on serving women and children who have experienced homelessness and a variety of traumas
Our Plan for Ongoing Relationship
Phoenix Rescue Mission current plans to expand the number of women and children it serves at the Changing Lives Center from 100 women & children today to 170 by the end of 2014
This will cost $250,000 to expand staffing, provide meals, open new apartment units, expand childcare and pre-school, and provide bedding and furniture for unfurnished cottages.
Support at any level from the Service Super Challenge would make a real difference!
How Would Phoenix Rescue Mission Utilize Any Funds from the Service Super
Challenge?
Please vote to help us serve 70 more homeless women and children this coming year!
