The Swedish Dewey project

• Ended in 2011

• One goal: to develop tools for joint search and navigation of material with SAB codes and material with DDC numbers

• A search tool was developed by Pansoft in spring 2012 - WebDeweySearch

LIBRIS – the union catalog

• Most records have classification codes SAB - 2010 ; DDC 2011-

• The national subject heading system Svenska ämnesord was created in 2002

• Therefore classification codes are important for retrieval

• In LIBRIS all records with SAB codes have been assigned DDC codes via a conversion table (and vice versa)

The Swedish WebDewey is a mixed model. All Dewey numbers are not translated into Swedish.
