BehavioralPolicies&ConsequencesBehavior dramatically reduces when students feel empowered, engaged, and respected in theclassroom. Preventing problem behavior therefore begins with incorporating strong Tier I (i,e.,preventative,universal)supportsandbuildingstrongrelationshipswithchildren.Whenincidentsdooccur,wetakearestorativeapproach,believingthatwhenusedeffectivelyalternativedisciplinethatincorporates restoration, reflection, and instruction will be more effective than a traditionaldisciplinemodel.
