SINGLE MOM DARES TO DREAM Andrea and her family desperately needed help. Lacking mental health support—for herself and her three autistic children—they turned to Samaritan House. With a renewed dedication to taking care of her children’s needs, Andrea entered the shelter program to build a stable foundation. The staff supported her as they start-ed therapy and helped her find subsidized housing. After only six months, Andrea moved into an affordable apartment, and her family began to flourish. Her son was inspired after a summer basketball camp and her daughters excelled in classes after receiving support at a special needs school and program. Andrea began to dream again. She started the process to launch a charity art program for special needs children. She is grateful to Samaritan House for all they did for her family.

BEYOND GRATEFUL, FAMILY FINDS NEW LIFE TOGETHER
The Mustin-Brannon family came to Samaritan House motivated and determined to find stable housing for their family of six. The couple, with their teenager, pre-teens and young children, won over the staff and other residents with their abundance of personality. They became a senior family at the shelter, setting a good example for the other families to follow. When time allowed, they also helped out in unexpected ways, including cleaning their case manager’s office. They never got deterred from their ultimate mission: finding a home. They continued their search until they found stable housing. The Samaritan House staff were honored to help the family, who were grateful for all their encouragement and support. Jennifer and Steven help their youngest
child try on shoes during a fall festival celebration at Samaritan House
shelter last year. The family of six found stable housing after receiving support
from the shelter staff.
