WHY  WOULD  WE  WANT  TO  TELL  OUR  LEADERSHIP  STORIES?

SO  WAIT,  WHY?• Attract  new  members• Share  success• Fundraise• Friendraise  (increase  awareness)• Celebrate  ourselves• Promote  something• Etc.

AND,  UM,  HOW?• Books• Pictures• Videos• Audio• Social  media• Infographics• Reports• Art  forms• Etc.

WHAT  LEADERSHIP  STORY  DO  YOU  WANT  TO  TELL?

1. imagesImages  that  tell  a  powerful  story  are  authentic,  culturally  relevant,  sensory,  and  informative.

• Free  features:  templates,  patterns,  shapes,  some  photos• Add  your  own  photos• Best  for:  quick  and  simple  social  media  messages;  things  you  know  a  graphic  designer  could  handle  in  5  minutes

PIKTOCHART• Free  features:  some  

templates,  graphics• Final  version  

includes  a  Piktochart  logo  that  can  be  cropped  out

• Best  for:  presenting  a  lot  of  information  in  a  small  way

UNSPLASH• Hundreds  of  excellent  quality  free  photos• No  license  restrictions• Best  for:  that  one  image  that  will  make  your  flyer  (or  presentation…)  look  10x  better

2. audioThe  use  of  the  voice  adds  a  human  element  to  any  story  that  is  being  shared  online.

AUDACITY• Completely  free  for  PC  or  Mac• Sound  quality  is  best  with  a  microphone• Best  for:  quick  sound  bytes;  distribution   to  large  audiences

3. textWe  can  be  a  lot  more  strategic  with  how  we  use  words  and  language  to  tell  our  leadership  stories.

4. videoWhile  video  content  seems  more  advanced,  it  is  really  just  a  combination   of  imagery,  audio,  and  text.
