MESSAGE FROM THE CONFERENCE CHAIR
As a Thomasian, we were ingrained with the Thomasian Core Values: Competence towards Truth and Intellectual Creativity, Compassion to live for the people, and Commitment to provide purpose and a sense of fulfilment. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), I believe, is a lifelong responsibility that companies should strictly adhere to a holistic approach to take care of the environment around them. “For every line you draw, there must be a story: behind each design should be a narrative. If you do a good job, think of the beneficiaries. If you do a lousy job, think of the sufferers.” Each project must strike a balance between the People, the Planet Earth, and lastly, the Economy. This, along with the architect’s tenet of “working with the environment, and not against it,” sustainability is meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of the future generations, using Green Architecture and Green Urbanism towards sustainable development. “Development is not worthy of a name unless spread evenly like butter on bread.” Sincerely Yours,
Arch. Felino “Jun” A. Palafox, Jr. Conference Chair Principal Architect, Palafox Associates

Dear Participants,
Welcome to the 2nd Philippine Conference on Research in CSR! We are pleased that you have decided to be one of the CSR and CSR Research proponents and champions in our country. We live in a time which requires all Filipinos to work together in ensuring that all our countrymen get a fair chance to get a good life in the 21st Century. Our theme is "Doing Good Is Not Good Enough". This is because of Sustainability being a critical aspect of any CSR endeavor. In fact, it is our hope that in addition to anecdotal and personal experiences, many CSR projects will now be based on well-researched models, and whose implementation will incorporate research and evaluation. We hope you enjoy the Conference. Very Truly Yours,
