Meet the Founder, Anthony Allan

Hi and welcome to Prestige Rope Wholesalers

I’m Anthony

Playing on the water in a sailing dinghy is where you’d find me when I was younger. The importance of quality was just important than, as it is today. My coach would often tell me “this yacht is an extension of your body, so look after it”. I believe that more than ever to this day. If sailing or boating is a hobby or a profession, you’d follow the same principle. Being around synthetic rope was a hobby that grew into a life passion. I’ve had 10 years industry experience with various rope constructions. From hobby yachting to Arboriculture. Rigging/ climbing trees as an arborist. This opportunity alone had me using dynamic and static rope for single access. Twelve strand double braid rigging line, Polypropylene Three strand. For me to go home safe every day I had to know that my 16 strand Polyamide braided core with a 24 strand Polyester sheath life line was going to get me through. I understand the importance of quality and safety, so, allow me to help!

There are many things we’re proud of here and there’s a lot more to our story than this, which we look forward to sharing with you when you contact us for further information.

“7 Benefits You’ll Receive From Prestige Rope Wholesalers.” If you have any experience looking for and buying polyamide, polyester, polyethylene or polypropylene three strand ropes you already know there’s no shortage of rope retailers and wholesalers around the corner or in the world This can be good and bad. With so many different kinds or ropes and suppliers, a large majority of the rope you’ll find will fluff out, or have small frays and unravelling before use, so you need to be careful who you’re purchasing your ropes from and what you’re getting for your money. That said, here’s a few benefits that Prestige Rope Wholesalers offers that many other rope services do not. #1. Recorded Rope Product Testing & Certificates – The only real way to tell if a polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester or polyamide/nylon rope is worth the price tag is to use it. Unlike some of the rope wholesalers you’ll see, with little or no product testing certificates, Prestige Rope Wholesalers are happy to provide you with recorded product testing and certificates on all our diameters upon your request. #2. Save Your Cash Flow Buying Ropes Wholesale – Prestige Rope Wholesalers are Australia’s go to rope supply service solution. We’re known for supplying top quality synthetic ropes at wholesale prices to the boating, fishing, construction, agriculture, sports and even the interior design industry, where our ropes are used as feature pieces in hotels, resorts, motels and more. If it has anything to do with rope, Prestige Rope Wholesalers makes it easy! #3. Our Ropes Can Be The Difference Between Life & Death – Sometimes the rope we sell can be the difference between life and death for many of our clients, depending on what they need the rope for. The last thing a cargo ship, fishing vessel or arborist up a tree needs is running the risk of using poor quality ropes that could put them, their team, the general public or their catch or project at risk. Prestige Rope Wholesalers stock has equal or greater strength at breaking point than any rope on the Australian market, giving you the confidence of your safe working load!

#4. Expert Delivery – All our three-stand rope is delivered on coils to keep your order as tidy as possible for you. Coil sizes range from 200m to 500m. Smaller and Greater sizes are available upon request.

#5. ‘We’re Responsible’ Warranty – We take the safety of you and your team, your projects or business’s equipment and income, and the general public very seriously. We stand behind our service and the wholesale ropes we sell. That’s why we’ll be held responsible for all unacceptable goods and shall be substituted with the acceptable goods at our expenses. And your warranty under the contract shall be valid for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery, against defects in materials or workmanship to the original purchaser. Exclusions apply #6. Ropes That Float On Water, Are Resistant To Oils And More – You can buy rope anywhere. However, if you want rope that makes your work easier and safer and a range of quality polyamide/nylon, polyester, polyethylene or polypropylene ropes that float on water, are resistant to oils, petrol, common solvents, bacteria and fungi and much more, Prestige Rope Wholesalers can help you. #7. Polyethylene Mono (PE)

Chemical Formula: C2H4

Melting point: 110 °C (230 °F) Specific Gravity: 0.92 (floats) Properties:

• Chemical Resistance • Electrical Insulation • Tough, abrasion resistant • Unaffected by water • Elasticity and Toughness

Produced in 1933 low density polyethylene is made from monomer ethylene. With great chemical resistance, high abrasion resistance and ultraviolet stabilised Polyethylene mono has a lower tensile strength to polypropylene. However, is an inexpensive substitute to use outdoors in many applications’ as polypropylene has to offer. Polyethylene is a thermoplastic. Instead of burning polyethylene liquefies, this means is can be heated to their melting point, cooled, and reheated again without significant degradation. Polyethylene is not resistant to ultraviolet, when exposed to sunlight it quickly degrades from to ultraviolet radiation. Prestige Rope Wholesalers use the finest of raw materials, modified Raw material have Anti-oxidants and ultraviolet inhibitors are added to the polymers to make the rope UV stabilised, increase toughness and mechanical strength. Prestige Rope Wholesalers manufactures synthetic three strand ropes, on the rule that we use multiuse biodegradable raw materials to manufacture our products. Once our synthetic three strand ropes have come to the end of their lifespan, they can be easily reused and/ or recycled.

Polyester (PET)

Technical name: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) Chemical Formula: (C10H8O4)n Melting point: 260 °C (°500F) Specific Gravity: 1.56 (does not float) Characteristics:

• Chemical Resistance • Electrical Insulation • Excellent Abrasion Resistance • Nonconductive to Electricity • Hight Melting Point • Strength To Weight Ratio

Polyesters UV resistance is Excellent. Polyester materials have an interesting property that makes them especially resistant to ultraviolet. Their chemical resistance is remarkably better than PP, PE and PO Typically, a polyester rope will only lose 10% of its breaking strength after 2 years of outdoor use. This is excluding cuts or severe abrasion. Polyester does not float, however is unaffected by water and will not lose strength. Prestige Rope Wholesalers source the very best raw material around the world. Polyethylene terephthalate, one of the polymers in which polyester is formed. Polyester is a thermoplastic, instead of burning Polyester liquefies, this means is can be heated to their melting point, cooled, and reheated again without significant degradation. Prestige Rope Wholesalers manufactures synthetic three strand ropes, on the rule that we use multiuse biodegradable raw materials to manufacture our products. Tensile Strength vs. Working Load

Tensile strength is determined by stretching new rope, UNDER LABORATORY CONDITIONS, until it breaks. This is done several times and an average is determined.

Working Load is the ACTUAL LOAD that a rope can be expected to safely and reliably be put under. It is only a fraction of the tensile strength, often only 15% - 25% of the tensile strength, or even less, in critical applications.

Most knots reduce the TENSILE STRENGTH by 40% - 50%. The use of grommets and splices instead of knots can improve the working load.

Whilst Prestige Rope Wholesalers ropes have great UV and chemical resistance, as the rope ages its strength is reduced by Ultra Violet exposure, oxidation, salt and chlorine, oil, slippage or twisting of the core, twisting of the whole rope, and wear caused by shock loads, and abrasion.

If a rope is subject to shock loads, then this can cause a weakening of the rope. This is not visible damage but even one strong shock, can seriously reduce the strength of a rope. If there is any cuts or abrasions above 10% of the rope diameter, the rope should be replaced and recycled

Good housekeeping and respect for your ropes will endeavour to save money, reduce the risk of accidents and breakages to other equipment, whilst continually giving you the confidence at the task at hand.
