The Goode Legacy

Generation 1, Part 3

+

We begin this part not with Sylvia going into labor, but with Melchior heading off to his job as a Commercial Actor in this goofy costume the morning after his brush with death.

+

Sylvia woke up that morning with a serious craving for pancakes, so she made some.

+

Around noon that day, Sylvia felt an odd sensation. She soon realized she was going into labor! The baby was coming!

+

“Why isn’t Melchior here?” Sylvia wailed. “If I ever do this again, he’d better be here with me! I didn’t save him from death so I could have his baby on my own!” Sylvia has begun to strike me as a bit of a diva.

+

It’s a boy! His name is Eli. He can’t be heir, obviously, since this is a matriarchy.

+

Sylvia! Why on earth did you put the baby on the floor? I know he can’t be heir, but that doesn’t mean you can—

+

Oh! You’re having twins! And this one is a girl! I guess I can forgive you for putting Eli down. This little gal is Emily Goode, our generation 2 heiress.

+

I don’t always take time to really decorate my sims’ nurseries, but I figured I’d try a bit harder now that I’m sharing this online. The twins will share a nursery until they’re children and then we’ll have to figure out the bedroom situation. I actually had to combine the original nursery with one of the spare rooms to make this ready for two babies, so now we only have one spare room.

+

This is the other end of the nursery, I foresee quite a lot of synchronized potty training going on here soon.

+

I love the fishies that came with the Family Fun pack. I think they look really cute in this room.

+

And this is the opposite side of the room from the fishie wall. I plan on decorating the walls more with sim paintings. I’d like to have Sylvia and Melchior each paint a picture for the nursery. (I’m not sure Sylvia the Diva will actually do it, though…)

+

Here are Emily and Eli in their cribs. I only know which one is which because I made Sylvia put Emily in the pink crib and Eli in the blue one. I used to have baby defaults that had a different color for each gender, but I seem to have lost them so you’ll have to trust me on this.

+

Here is Eli Goode, our little spare boy. He seems to have gotten his daddy’s hair and eyes. I wonder if there’s any Sylvia in him.

+

And here is Emily, our tiny heiress. She looks just like Eli right now. I’m hoping their faces will be different when they become toddlers (all babies look the same). The dark hair and eyes will make her look adorable, I’m sure.

+

Sylvia honestly wasn’t all that interested in her babies. I had to make her put them in the cribs and then she headed straight downstairs to get something to eat. She also rolled the want for a party. I decided to let her have one. She seems like the kind of sim who would want to tell all her friends, “I had twins! Come over and celebrate with me!”

+

Melchior came home just in time to go on diaper duty! The twins seem to be very in sync, filling their diapers almost at the same time.

+

Sylvia did throw her party. Here are some of her guests, all friends from University. The guy in the white shirt is Lewin, who is friends with Melchior as well. The girl in the doorway is Jessi, who is a pledge at Sylvia’s old Greek house. The girl in the pink pants is Arachne, the placeholder at the Greek house. She’s hugging Hugh, who is a guy Sylvia befriended in college.

+

These last two guests are Brody, who is Arachne’s fiance, and Rhianna, another pledge at the Greek house.

+

Melchior is a popularity sim just like Sylvia, so he was glad to see his friend Lewin and spent a good deal of the night building up to best friends with him.

+

Sylvia spent the time that afternoon cooking some really good food. Part of the reason I think she’s kind of a diva is because, given the choice, she will make lobster thermidor every time she’s hungry. She also baked a cake. Her guests were apparently not impressed with the food choices. Arachne there is eating the lobster and Sylvia is eating cake, but the other two gals at the table have raided the fridge.

+

Told you the bunny bear didn’t stay put. Actually Melchior had picked it up earlier, but here comes Jessi to talk to someone through it.

+

The party was so great (or possibly just so loud) that the cops showed up! I’ve never had this happen before! The Goodes don’t actually have any neighbors, so I’m not sure who sent in a complaint about noise.

+

I was worried when the cops showed up that it would tank the party score, but it just ended the party a bit early. Sylvia’s party was a success!

+

I made Sylvia clean up everything since it was her party, and then I put her on diaper duty. She and Melchior will take turns caring for the twins if I have any say in the matter.

That’s all for now! Join me next time, when we’ll skip ahead a bit to the twins’ birthday party and see how Emily and Eli grow up.
