THE HARDEST CHRISTIAN ACT 01

TRANSCRIPT

THE HARDEST CHRISTIAN ACT

“Forgiveness is not an occasional art but a permanent attitude.”

Hanging onto a hurt or resentment can be exhausting and painful.

Holding onto a grudge does nothing to heal or resolved the wound.

The best way to stop the hurting is simply to forgive.

Forgiving is difficult at best because it rubs against our emotional grain.

We feel like we are letting the person off the hook or worse

condoning their bad behavior.

You are right.

When we forgive we are not concerned about letting them off

the hook but getting us off the hook.

Forgiveness takes the tangled mess of our emotions and releases us from having to see justice done.

It does not lessen the concern we have or the desire to see the Lord’s

will done.

Forgiveness simply says the first step is to get us out of the mire so

we can stop growing hatred.

What is the worst thing about forgiveness to you?
