JOSHUA 1 & 2 :1. AFTER THE DEATH OF MOSES THE SERVANT OF THE LORD, IT CAME TO PASS THAT THE LORD SPOKE TO JOSHUA THE SON OF NUN, MOSES’ ASSISTANT, SAYING: 2 “MOSES MY SERVANT IS DEAD. NOW THEREFORE, ARISE, GO OVER THIS JORDAN, YOU AND ALL THIS PEOPLE, TO THE LAND WHICH I AM GIVING TO THEM—THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.

Key Verse

AND THE LORD SPOKE TO MOSES, “GO TO PHARAOH AND SAY TO HIM, ‘THUS SAYS THE LORD: “LET MY PEOPLE GO, THAT THEY MAY SERVE (WORSHIP) ME.

The Purpose (Exodus 8: 8)

God’s plan

Moses and Aaron arranged to meet with Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. They told him that God wanted the Hebrews to leave Egypt so that they could worship and serve God

SLAVES TO FREEDOMNO RIGHTS, NO AUTHORITY, NO FUTURE, NO FREEDOM TO WORSHIP GOD

SLAVES TO POVERTYNO PROPERTY, NO MONEY,

SLAVES TO HARD LABOURNO REST, NO CHOICE

MODERN DAY SLAVERY

SLAVES TO BONDAGE MINDSETFORGOT THEIR RIGHTS, NO AUTHORITY, NO FUTURE, NO JOY TO WORSHIP GOD

SLAVES TO MONEYWORK HARD AND STILL NO MONEY AND TIME

SLAVES TO WORKNO REST, NO CHOICE

SLAVES TO SICKNESS AND ADDICTION

28 But command Joshua, and encourage him and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you will see.’

Who is Joshua?

1. He is filled with the Holy SpiritDeut. 34: 9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.He is like Joseph so filled with Spirit ( Genesis 41:38)

2. He is man of faith and courageWhen Moses sent 12 spies to scout the land of Canaan only Joshua and Caleb, son of Jephunneh, believed the Israelites could conquer the land with God's help.

3. He is a fighter (1st mention of Joshua)Exodus 17: 9 And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.”

Who is Joshua?

4. He is obedientCrossing river of Jordan and War of JerichoJoshua 24:14 & 15

5. He loves the presence of the LordJoshua stayed back at the Tent of MeetingExodus 33:11

6. He loves to serve God But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua 24: 15

Who is Joshua?

15 NOW THE JORDAN IS IN FLOOD ALL DURING HARVEST. YET AS SOON AS THE PRIESTS WHO CARRIED THE ARK REACHED THE JORDAN AND THEIR FEET TOUCHED THE WATER’S EDGE, 16 THE WATER FROM UPSTREAM STOPPED FLOWING. IT PILED UP IN A HEAP A GREAT DISTANCE AWAY, AT A TOWN CALLED ADAM IN THE VICINITY OF ZARETHAN, WHILE THE WATER FLOWING DOWN TO THE SEA OF THE ARABAH (THAT IS, THE DEAD SEA) WAS COMPLETELY CUT OFF. SO THE PEOPLE CROSSED OVER OPPOSITE JERICHO.

Joshua 3: 15-16

MOSES COMES OUT WITH DEAD BONES IN THE BOX, JOSHUA COMES OUT WITH THE ARK.

WE COME OUT WITH THE GLORY OF GOD. JORDAN CROSSING REPRESENTS NEW LIFE IN THE SPIRIT. IT WAS AT JORDAN THAT ELIJAH HAS GONE TO HEAVEN. ELISHA RECEIVES DOUBLE PORTION. IN JORDAN , JESUS WAS FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST. ISRAELITES WALK WITH THEIR FEET BUT WE WALK BY FAITH.

Joshua 3: 15-16

WE ARE NEW CREATION IN CHRIST. MOSES GENERATION SAID DON’T LET US HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD OR I WILL DIE. (EXODUS 20:19) WE WANT TO HEAR FROM GOD JOHN 5: 24 "VERY TRULY I TELL YOU, WHOEVER HEARS MY WORD AND BELIEVES HIM WHO SENT ME HAS ETERNAL LIFE AND WILL NOT BE JUDGED BUT HAS CROSSED OVER FROM DEATH TO LIFE.

Joshua 3: 15-16

THE LORD IS RAISING UP A NEW JOSHUA GENERATION TO FULFILL HIS GLOBAL PURPOSES. WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS, GOD IS RAISING UP A LAST DAY ARMY WHO WILL FULFILL ALL THAT HE WILL DESIRE FOR HIS PEOPLE AND THAT THE KINGDOM OF THIS WORLD WILL BECOME CHRIST’S.

END TIME ARMY IS SICK AND TIRED OF DOING THINGS THE SAME WAY, MOVING IN CIRCLE NOT ACCOMPLISHING WHAT GOD HAS SET THEM UP TO GOD.

ARISE !
