The Road-(of Life)

• about a person trying to make a decision between two choices in life

• emotions• He wants to tell us that we have to

be brave in choosing and think of the consequence in every decision. Because sometimes, we will loose the opportunity for the other choice.

Symbolism

• The two roads symbolize that the writer faces two choices and it is hard to choose one of them.

• To where it bent in undergrowth : it makes the path seems a far harder and risky path

• It was grassy and wanted wear : it shows that this path is easier and more ideal to choose.

“Yellow” = light, hope, and promise. His future is bright and stretches before him. Though both paths are light, he must choose only one.

“Woods” - an image of a quiet, deserted place where the speaker is left alone to decide. There are no road signs or people to stop and ask for directions. Similarly, there are no signs in life designed to help people choose their path.

‘Sigh…’

So the ‘Road Not Taken’?

It is not just about taking the road less travelled, or being an individual, or making the more difficult choice.

It is also about the consequences of all the choices that we make which we

have to live with.

Journal• Write about a time when you

had a choice between two “roads”. Explain each option and the one you decided to choose. Now think about how your life might have been different if you had gone with the alternative. Give lots of detail. Include a drawing for extra credit (in color).
