Welcome Christie
Welsh New Head Coach—
FC Bucks U16 Girls
Revolution
The club would like to welcome Christie Welsh as the new head coach of the FC Bucks U16 Girls Revolution. Christie played on the US Women’s National Team from 2000-2008 and spent several years in Olympic and World Cup training residen-cies. She has played internationally, domestically and professionally since her graduation from Penn State University in 2002. There she was the first player in women’s soccer history to earn NSCAA All America honors for 4 consecutive years and the first women’s soccer player to receive Big Ten Player of the Year honors for 3 consecutive sea-sons. She was drafted 2nd overall in 2003 WUSA to New York Power and consistently lead the team
in scoring.
Welcome Christie! We are sure you will see her on
the fields!

Welcome
Fall Intramural 2011
Welcome Intramural Players to another season of Fall Soccer with CRUSA! A huge thank you to all coaches and volunteers that make it possible for us to have such a successful intramural program! We
could not do it without you!
Despite the weather, we have had a great start to the season and are working on options to make up games that have been cancelled due to bad weather. We would like to hold a coach’s meeting for U4-U8 coaches on Monday, October 3rd at 8:30 pm at the Northampton Library to work out a plan. This meeting will be held right after our volunteer meet-
ing.
The season finale for the U4-U7 age groups will conclude on Saturday, November 5th with our an-nual ―Festival Day‖ with a participation medal ceremony that should be great fun for all! This is a great opportunity to take lots of photos—and we would love to post them on the website, so email
them to us so we can share them!
The U8 and up age groups will be participating in a round-robin tournament, also on Saturday, Novem-ber 5th that could include championship games on Saturday night or on Sunday, November 6th de-
pending on the age groups.
Finally, we are beginning to form our select teams for the U8-U18 age groups that will represent CRUSA at end of season tournaments. Any coaches interested in coaching an age group, please
contact the CRUSA office for details.

STATE CUP CHAMPS
Congratulations to the U12 FC Bucks Girls Wildcats, who won the National Championship Series State Cup in May! Throughout this year’s state cup experience, they outscored their oppo-nents 16-0, culminating in a win of 4-0 in the title
match. Way to go, Girls!
This championship win was head coach Ed Leigh’s 19th State Cup Championship, to go along with 5
Region 1 titles and 1 National Championship.

U7/U8 Boys Travel
Academy Festival
Our boys U7/U8 Travel Academy held their first Fall Festival on Sunday, September 11th at the Civic Center. CRUSA combined their U7/U8 age groups and formed 6 small sided teams, and Upper Makefield brought 3 small sided teams. Each team played (4) 15 minute games. Format was 5v5, which includes a goalkeeper. The event lasted
about 2 hours, with most games being back to back.
The basic concept is that our young players do not have the opportunities to simply play freely on their own. Players around the world develop faster because they are playing in the streets. These small-sided festivals are the answer to this void in US Soccer. We are attempting to create ―Street Soccer‖ while keeping players in a safe and
friendly environment.
The next boy’s small sided festival will be hosted by Buckingham Soccer Club on September 25th and will be attended by teams from CRUSA, Buck-ingham, Upper Makefield and Ukrainian Nationals.
CRUSA will be hosting the final event on
November 6th.
3rd Annual
CRUSA/FC Bucks
Tournament Recap
Thank you to all of the CRUSA/FC Bucks teams who participated in this year’s 3rd Annual Tourna-ment! With almost 200 teams in attendance, it was a huge success! While we had games running at five locations, our main hub this year was Council Rock South High, where we not only had 8 games being played every hour all day both days, but also had tents set up from Adidas, Angelo’s and the Philadelphia Union. The weather was beautiful on Saturday and held out on Sunday to make the week-
end a great time for everyone!
