IDSC DEPARTMENT
As the time moves forward IDSC department has taken its first step towards recognition and success
by engaging the people of SUAS in extracurricular activities. The clubs formed under IDSC
department - LITERRA SOCIUS and THE PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB have taken to themselves in the
engagement of the members of Symbiosis, faculty and students, to come and participate as equals.
Following its motto of: Beyond the Books, Literra Socius took the initiative to organize a “Writing

where the pen is a sword and the paper a battlefield. Lit Soc's debut event, held on February the 24th
of 2018, with the motive to unleash the creativity, created humorous as well as witty instances for the
participants to write on.
The participants also comprised of people who were no more than novices in the art of writing, and
yet, while the word limit was decreed to be not more than 300, contestants developed their write up
with enthusiasm, many struggling to limit their vast imaginations to a single sheet of paper.
The competition was honoured with the presence of Mr. Surendra Singh Chouhan, motivational
speaker and teacher from Emerald Heights Foundation along with the Dean and faculty members
from schools of engineering and management. The honorary guests were welcomed with roses and
aspiring speeches by participants and Asst. Prof. Ms. Amruta Sharma.
The whole atmosphere turned into a great classroom of motivation and learning. The event ended
with a vote of thanks from Mr. Chouhan, expressing his
gratitude and generosity towards all the participants and club members. The writing prompt
competition turned into an encouraging event for the entire team of the literary club.
On a similar note, The Photography Club conducted its first session on 'Photography basics and
Mobile Photography' on February the 24th of 2018. The session was conducted by one of their own
student member Arav Barot, a I year student of School of Automobile. Many interested students
