COUNCILS USING THE SCMS

Since October 2006, all twenty twocouncils within the Yorkshire and theHumber region have had access to theSCMS system.

Leeds was one of the first adopters ofthe SCMS, ‘going live’ on the system inJune 2006. Other councils started usingthe system in June and October on aphased implementation basis.

Contact details for each of theparticipating councils can be found on

the website.

In addition to the above, other publicsector organisations within the regionwill be offered the opportunity to use the

system should they wish.

Leeds CityCouncil iscollaborating

with twenty one councils in the Yorkshireand the Humber region to promoteelectronic communication within the

procurement sector.

The introduction of the SCMS in June2006 as part of a five year contract, isseen as a major contribution to thisinitiative.

In early2008, the

Proactis Group Limited, locally based inWetherby, acquired Alito Limited, theprovider of the SCMS solution.

Proactis are fully committed to ensuringthe continued development of the SCMSwithin the Yorkshire and the Humberregion, and see the SCMS solution asan integral part of the groups portfolio.

WHAT IS SCMS?

The Supplier and Contract ManagementSystem (SCMS) is a regional (Yorkshireand the Humber) web based systemwhich has three modules:

Supplier Management

Tender Management

Contract Management

The system provides a secure singlecore database to hold information abouteach council’s suppliers, tenders and

contracts.
