2008 2009

Training session with the following 5 operators

• 1 Guidance/counselling centre CIBC 64 • 1 Employment service A.N.P.E. • 2 Training agencies/centres A.F.P.A and PLIE • 1 Training agency dedicated

to disabled public CapEmploi Bearn

TRAINING SESSION (1/4)

TRAINING SESSION (2/4)

Main topics presented during the training session

• Definition of competences by the E.U.• Presentation of the two portfolios experimented by Estia and by

one expert• The process and the different methodologies to be applied• The technique of the video by a professional in Tv broadcasting

The operators at work

TRAINING SESSION (3/4)

Goals assigned to the operators

• Test the digital portfolio • Deepen the methodologies for the identification

of competences • Valorize the informal competences

TRAINING SESSION (4/4)

Methodologies used by the operators• The Observation in the field (environment, social links, …)

• The interview– Storytelling (the person talks about his/her life, interests, hobbies,…)

– Analysis of the course (activities, missions, objectives, responsibilities,…)

– Documents, resume,…

Besides, the operator has to choose, select and discuss with the person which are the more relevant situation (or potentially) in order to decide the competences that have to be shown on the portfolio according to the goals of the process.

DISSEMINATION MEETING (2/2)

SYNTHESIS (1/6)

Some technical observations• Few operators used the video (Except for the

portfolio of Eric CASAJUS)• The most important thing is to explain the

process (how the person does this thing, the differents steps). The photo, the video by itself is not enough.

SYNTHESIS (2/6)

Positive aspects stressed by the operators• For the beneficiaries: they become positively

aware about what they do and how they do it, not only in the professional field

• For the operators: • The classification of the competences (formal, non

formal and informal) • The tools that support the methodology (video,

photos….)

SYNTHESIS (3/6)

Positive aspects for the structure (organisation, entreprise)

• Become aware about the competences of the workers : (process, how the worker presents and illustrates his/her competences) beyond the professional field

• Can be an interesting tool for a strategy aimed at the transfer of competences (as a learning tool in general or more specifically from seniors to juniors for example)

SYNTHESIS (4/6)

Main “Philosophical” difficulty

Technical, manual activities and competences are (quite) easy to show. But for “intellectual” activities, it’s very hard to illustrate the abilities and the skills of the person.

SYNTHESIS (5/6)

Technical difficulties for the operators and for the beneficiaries

• To manage the tool and to upload documents, images, …

• Lack of updated material in the operators’ structures

SYNTHESIS (6/6)

Conclusion• The fact that the partner had worked and experimented the portfolio was a big help for the operators before the training session

• If the person doesn’t have a personal blog or another support, this digital portfolio is a very interesting tool to show the professional and personal skills that he/she has developed.
