• Bedouins – Arab nomadic people in northern Arabic peninsula

• Sheikh ruled tribes and were selected from the majlis the council of elders

• Each tribe autonomous (ruled itself) but had allegiance to the clans

• The camel domesticated and used caravans to trade goods between the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea.

• The Teachings of Mohammad and the city of Mecca housed the black stone of Mohammad (Ka’aba black meteorite)

• Trade caused the Arabian peninsula to grow in economic importance.
