A Note From
The Executive Artistic Director
Welcome to the Titusville Playhouse
And ANNIE!
WOW!! 2020 has been a wild ride, hasn’t it? Even though I have had to take
actions to change the rest of our 56th Season I know you will love every show.
While you will see the cast without masks tonight I must ask you to wear your
mask while here at the theatre. Do it for yourself, your neighbor and our
community. I would also like to let you know that we have tested every cast
member to make sure they are negative before we allowed them to remove their
masks onstage. All precautions are being taken to keep everyone as safe as
possible during this time. I hope you will join us as we continue to present
Broadway quality entertainment here at the Titusville Playhouse!
ANNIE is an amazing show and means so much to me personally! It is
actually the first Broadway show I ever heard, on LP, in my life. It started my
path down the road of theatre. The Wall family, in our little town, went to
NYC and saw ANNIE in 1977 and brought the album back home. I listened to
it with them and loved the show, and then for Christmas that year they bought
me a copy of the album. I played that record so many times. When I was seven
I would sing the song Maybe at the top of my lungs and one afternoon when I
was in my bedroom my Mother came in and told me to turn down the record
player but she saw that it was me singing, over the record. That was the first
time my Mother realized that I had any ounce of talent. The rest just seemed to
fall into place. I have always LOVED this show and have never had the
opportunity to direct or be in it. I am so happy to be able to bring this show,
that has meant so much to me, to you and our theatre. It is a great show, full of
hope and optimism. Exactly what we need today!
Thank you so much for your support and I will see you at A Tuna Christmas
or for Ghost, The Musical in the New Year!
