What is a “spiritual gift”?

An ability that is empowered by the Holy Spirit and used in love to

build up the church.

Why Study This?

Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you

to be ignorant.(1 Corinthians 12:1)

How many . . .

Holy Spirits?

Spiritual gifts?

One Body

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,

so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.(Romans 12:4-6a)

One Body

If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be?

If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?

But in fact God has arranged the parts of the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.

If they were all one part, where would the body be?As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

(1 Corinthians 12:17-20)

How do you figure out your part of the body?

Do not think of yourselfmore highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself

with sober judgment,in accordance with the measure of faith

God has given you.(Romans 12:3)
